Law Society Pro Bono Services is an initiative by the Law Society of Singapore to help bring free legal assistance to those in need in our community. It is part of the Law Society's stated mission to ensure access to justice for all.
Our work is supported by our volunteers who give generously and selflessly of their time and expertise for the needy in our community and financially by contributions from individual lawyers, law practices, private donations, foundations, corporations and key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Law, TOTE Board and various community partners.
Justice For All Project
An important part of the Law Society of Singapore’s mission is to serve the community by facilitating access to justice. Our lawyers have a proud tradition of volunteering their services to help the needy and disadvantaged. Law Society Pro Bono Services supports the efforts of our volunteer lawyers through pro bono programmes which have been growing over the years. However there still exist many areas of unmet legal needs. The Justice For All Project aims to widen the scope of pro bono services provided by our volunteer lawyers for the most needy and disadvantaged in the community.
The Justice For All Project increases the collaboration and engagement between lawyers and the wider community, voluntary welfare/non-governmental organisations and other key stakeholders. Apart from scaling up legal representation in criminal cases, volunteer lawyers play an even greater role in the dissemination of critical legal knowledge in the community through an expanded network of legal clinics in the heartlands, an enhanced programme of legal awareness talks/publications and even more targeted legal support for organisations helping the disadvantaged.
